My DSL/Cable provider has a dynamic IP address that changes continuously. How do I access my StarDot device from the Internet if I don't know what my IP address is?

Check with your DSL/Cable provider to see if you can get a static IP address (some providers charge extra for a static IP address).

If you cannot, or you do not wish to pay the premium for a static IP address, our products support dynamic DNS service (like TZO.com), which allows you to access your device by simply typing in a hostname, which the dynamic DNS service maps to your DSL/Cable dynamic IP address (for example, mycamera.remotecam.com).

We have partnered with TZO to provide dynamic DNS support with our Products. To sign up for an account ($25/year), visit stardot.tzo.com. After signing up, you will receive an e-mail from TZO with the configuration information. If you have a Linksys or D-link router, we suggest you use your router as the TZO client. In the Linksys router click on DDNS. If your router does not support TZO, you can configure it in the advanced section of your StarDot device.
