Yes. If you are on the same network as your Stardot product, you can use StarDot Tools. Launch StardDot tools, right click on the device, and select "Telnet Session". This will open a telnet connection to the device. If you are running MS Vista you will need to install telnet first:
1. Click Start then select Control Panel.
2. Select Programs and Features.
3. Select Turn Windows features on or off.
4. Select the Telnet Client option.
5. Click OK.
6. A dialog box will appear to confirm installation. The telnet command should now be available.
If you do not have StarDot tools installed or are at another location, you can use any standard telnet program. You can access Windows' telnet progam by going to:
Start --> Run --> and type in telnet <ipaddress>
If you are on a Macintosh and are running OS X:
1. Open up the "Terminal" application found in the Utilities folder under Applications. This is similar to the command prompt found on Windows, although it's a bit different because OS X is based on UNIX, not MS-DOS, so the commands are a bit different.
2. Type in
telnet <ipaddress>
3. To exit the connection, hold type CTRL+] and then type quit and press 'enter'.
