TRIGGER

A sequence of images can be buffered and uploaded when triggered by an event (such as a door opening or an alarm system). Both pre- and post-trigger images can be stored and either emailed or uploaded to an FTP server.

ENABLED

This option must be enabled in order for triggered uploads to occur.

VIDEO SOURCE

Select a video source. Some devices have only one source.

TRIGGER

I/O Port - Select which input is being used. Some devices have only one input.

I/O Level - Set this to low if you want to trigger when a normally 0 voltage line sends a positive voltage, or high if a normally positive voltage line sends 0 voltage. On some devices, it's a low or high signal. Consult the product manual for more information.

SCHEDULE

When disabled, triggered captures can occur any time of the day, any day of week. You can also set schedule triggered captures to only occur during certain times or days of the week.

PRE-BUFFER

The number of images to save before an event trigger occurs.

Delay - The amount of time between stored images measured in milliseconds (1000 ms = 1 second).

Count: - The number of images to pre-buffer. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 50 IMAGES TOTAL, EVEN LESS IF SAVING HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES, TO PREVENT MEMORY OVERFLOW.

Note: Pre-buffering images can slow down the viewing frame rate since images are constantly being buffered.

POST-BUFFER

The number of images after an even trigger occurs.

Delay - The amount of time between stored images measured in milliseconds (1000 ms = 1 second).

Count: - The number of images to post-buffer. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 50 IMAGES TOTAL, EVEN LESS IF SAVING HIGH RESOLUTION IMAGES, TO PREVENT MEMORY OVERFLOW.

Note: Viewing the live feed via a web browser will also affect the rate at which triggered images can be buffered.

UPLOAD VIA FTP

If you'd like the triggered images to be uploaded to an FTP server, select this option.

Hostname - The hostname is the name of the server where you'd like to upload images to. It can be a machine name or IP address. Do not include the http:// or ftp:// header or a path.

Example: myserver.com or ftp.myserver.com

Username - This is the username or login name assigned to you by your hosting company.

Password - This is the password assigned to you by your hosting company.

Path - Consult with your hosting company to determine if you need to specify a path. The path is where FTP mistakes are usually made. Verify your path with a separate FTP client beforehand. Note that a filename does not get entered here. The sequential filenames are automatically generated (image0-000.jpg, image0-001.jpg, etc.).

Passive Mode - When behind a proxy server, enable passive mode. If you are unsure if you need passive mode, it is usually safe to enable it anyway. If you're having FTP problems, try disabling passive mode.

Timeout - An unsuccessful FTP upload attempt will restart after the specified amount of seconds.

UPLOAD VIA SMTP (EMAIL)

Triggered images will be e-mailed.

Mail To - The e-mail address you want the images sent to.

Mail From - The e-mail address you want the images sent from (this can be whatever you choose).
