StarDot DVR Software allows a PC running Windows XP or 2000 or higher to view, record, and playback images from local or remote digital streaming cameras. It will fetch images from StarDot cameras and video servers, as well as many other popular third party cameras.

You can view up to 16 cameras at a time, or playback 16 recorded views at the same time, or if you are using the DVR 100 then you can view and record up to 100 cameras at a time. Both versions support 16-camera simultaneous playback. The list of cameras you can view can contain up to 1024 entries, organized into groups.  Recorded information is stored in compressed format, and you can play back a recorded camera, select which range of images you wish to view, and export those images into a file you can view on another computer, or burn to CD.

Hard disk storage is practically unlimited if you select motion recording. A low cost hard drive can hold as much as six years of recorded data! If your security system consists of the average of six cameras, you can expect to store months of recordings on your hard drive. The software automatically deletes recorded images which are older than you specify. For instance, you can have the software delete your parking lot images in one week, but save your cash register recordings for months. There's also an automatic delete based on hard drive fullness, so that you can save images until the hard drive is nearly full, then have it delete the oldest files it can find in all of your recorded views. Playback mode automatically selects the most recent activity, so that you never have to view old images until you need them.

Once you've tried digital video recording as a security system you'll never go back to using a VCR or hardware DVR. You can instantly view a combination of cameras, while they are still recording.  During playback you can follow a person walking from one room to another, in real time sequence. With motion detected recording enabled, it's easy to see when your employees arrive for work, take lunch, or leave. Only images with motion are stored, so you don't waste your time looking at an empty room.

We're sure you'll be pleased with digital video recording and will find it an indispensable security tool. It won't be long before all video security systems are digital.

This software is licensed for use on up to three computers, provided they are recording the same cameras. Additional copies can be purchased from StarDot.
